Ponyo in the LA Times and Entertainment Weekly

Ponyo lands as the final movie in the LA Times' Summer Movies Sneaks 2009: Family movies. Entertainment Weekly has a brief preview with quotes from Pixar's John Lasseter.

More Detailed "Ninokuni" Talk & Imagery

Last week’s Famitsu interview with Suzuki Toshio on Studio Ghibli’s video game project "Ninokuni", which was partly translated at 1up.com, was part of a larger conversation for Suzuki’s radio show Ghibli Asmemire. It was aired last Sunday and GhibliWorld has a completer version of their talk backed up with more new imagery.

New "Ninokuni" Screenshots

Ponyo at Los Angeles Film Festival

From AnimeNewsNetwork comes word that Ponyo is the closing film at the 2009 LAFF (June 18-28). The film opens in US theaters on August 14.

US Blu-ray Listings, "Ponyo" Trailer

While no date is listed Amazon.com is prepped for the Blu-ray releases of:

Dark Horizons reports that a trailer for Ponyo is attached to front of "Ice Age 3".

New Grave of the Fireflies R1 DVD, Studio Ghibli Exhibition in Beverly Hills

Anime News Network reports that the R1 DVD rights to Grave of the Fireflies have shifted to ADV from Central Park Media, which recently declared bankruptcy. CPM released two DVDs , one of which was a rare legitimate region zero DVD. The ADV release is scheduled for July 7 but no details other than the price ($19.98) are listed.

A press release via ANN about "ANIME! High Art - Pop Culture" lists Studio Ghibli as one of the exhibition's themes. It opens on May 15 and runs through August 23.
