4. Second Floor

Animation:

The Animation department uses most of the second floor. There are about 30 animators working at Ghibli.

Miyazaki's desk

Although he has his own room, Miyazaki usually works at his desk located in the animation room, along with other animators.

Meeting room: Huge plush toys of Totoro, Jiji, and so forth are displayed here. It is also used as a library, but since many things have disappeared, it is called the "Bermuda Triangle of Ghibli". The room is equipped with 16-mm projector and other AV equipment to be used for rush film checking. There is also a smaller meeting room.

There are also Production and Publishing departments at the second floor.
