All about the director

The Scenery of Ghibli (ジブリの風景 Jiburi no Fuukei?) consists of two NTV documentaries which aired on the Japanese satellite channel BS-Nittere in 2006 and 2008. The 2006 doc presents a trip to the "Europe Encountered in Miyazaki's Works." The cities of Stockholm and Gotland were major inspirations for the town of Koriko in Kiki's Delivery Service, while the Alsace region of France served as the inspiration for the backgrounds in Howl's Moving Castle. The 2008 doc visits locations in Japan which inspired the backgrounds for My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away and Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea. This release is available from Japan as a Ghibli ga Ippai Collection Special on both Region-2 DVD and All-region Blu-ray.
