September 28, 2001 "Sen" beats "Titanic" attendance record
According Toho, Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi beat the attendance record set by Titanic on September 26, 2001. The Titanic record of 16.83 million people was broken by Sen with 16.88 million attendees. Toho projects it will beat the Titanic Japanese box office gross earnings record of ¥26 billion by early November.
