Aurum has secured the distribution rights for My Neighbors the Yamadas in Spain. No release date has been annouced.

The Tales from Earthsea Film Comics will be released in Germany by Carlsen starting in October 2007 and finishing in January 2008. The Cat Returns airs on the German televison station Super RTL June 1 at 20:15.

Tales from Earthsea receives a Polish theatrical run starting May 18. The film is distributed by Monolith Films

May 22, 2007 New Studio Ghibli Museum Exhibit
GhibliWorld has details on the latest exhibition at the museum, one based on "The Three Bears" by Leo Tolstoy. It runs through May 2008 and both Miyazaki and Takahata worked on the project.

May 14, 2007 "Howl's Moving Castle" Wins Nebula Award
Howl's Moving Castle won in the "Best Script" category. The awards were presented during the May 11-13 weekend.

The April 23 production diary listed some production statistics:

Layout: 552 cuts
Key animation: 290 cuts
Chief animator check: 200 cuts
Animation: 161 cuts
Background painting: 210 cuts
Paint: 151 cuts
Filming: 115 cuts

The production department staff estimates "Ponyo" will finish with around 1000 cuts. The April 24 diary noted that some cuts consist of 700 to 1000 animation cels.

The Studio Ghibli Museum diary of April 17 and 18 showed a new short film, "Madaran-kai" for the "Film Guruguru" series. Key animator is Atsuko Tanaka. Color designer is Michiyo Yasuda. "Guruguru" is an onomatopoeia which expresses the state of a thing turning endlessly.
