Isao Takahata has just published a book in Japan.

"12 Seiki no Animation"
(Animation in the 12th Century"
published by Tokuma Shoten/Studo Ghibli Company
3,600 yen
151 page
ISBN: 4-19-860971-3

This book is about "Emakimono", a Japanese tapestry style picturebooks in 12th
century. It is Takahata-San's theory that Japanese love manga and anime
because they are used to this kind of storytelling through drawings, which has
roots in Emakimono.

In the end of the book, he also talks about Bayeux tapestry. However, he does
not talk about his (or any other) anime.
