Conan and Lana, the main characters in Conan, are often considered prototypes of Laputa's Pazu and Sheeta.

The official (from the Japanese creators) English title for this TV series is Conan, The Boy in Future, though this is an incorrect English rendition of the Japanese title. Anime fans usually call this series Future Boy Conan, which is much easier to remember and say.

Mirai Shounen Conan 2 - Taiga Daiboken (Future Boy Conan 2 - River Adventure) does not have any Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli involvement.
